Madrid, 17 July 2023
Since May, Gestair Aviation has been operating flights with SAF fuel on demand, in collaboration with Repsol, following the signing of the agreement by which both companies are committed to moving towards more sustainable mobility.
The first flight was made on 19 May in a Gulfstream G650 aircraft that made the Madrid-Vienna-Saarbrucken-Zurich-Madrid route. The type of SAF used resulted in a 72.1% reduction in GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions compared to fossil fuel.
In this way, Gestair is demonstrating its desire to continue adopting solutions that meet the current demands of the market and its customers. In addition, Gestair offsets emissions on all its commercial flights through the HORIZON Programme that the company has developed. This programme achieved in 2022 the compensation of 99% of emissions from the charter flights operated.
In addition, Gestair and Repsol have created areas of collaboration for the analysis and formulation of proposals aimed at promoting the development and consumption of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), improving efficiency, carbon capture and offsetting emissions.
