Carlos Gericó has been Chief Executive Officer of Gestair Group since 2015 and Chairman of all its companies since 2019. He is the direct link with shareholders, chairs the management committee and leads the company's strategic plan. All the Group's business units (Aviation, MRO, Aeroplanning) and corporate units (Finance, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, etc.) are under his management.
Since joining Gestair Group in 2015, Group's turnover has more than doubled and EBITDA has increased fivefold. He led the integration of Executive Airlines into the Group (inorganic growth) and organic growth with the incorporation of aircraft from other companies. During this period, Gestair group also inaugurated two hangars at Madrid airport, totaling more than 23,000 square meters, and renewed and extended its contracts with the State.
Carlos Gericó, graduated in Physics at the University of Zaragoza, has taken several aviation and management courses. Dedicated to business aviation since 2007, before joining Gestair, he worked as Controller, Executive Director and General Manager successively at Executive Airlines. Previously, he worked as an Aeronautical Consultant and as Operations Manager in outsourcing companies.
Anabel Azor, General Counsel of Gestair Group, is responsible for Legal Affairs (Legal Counsel and HR) and Compliance Officer. She is also a member of the Management Committee and Secretary of the Board of Directors of all the companies that integrate the Gestair Group.
Since joining Gestair Group, Anabel Azor led the creation of the Group's Legal Department, which at the beginning was diversified in more than 20 companies, to later undertake its corporate restructuring. She has been involved from a corporate legal perspective in the transition from a family business to a group of companies participated by different investment funds and has been an active part of the integration process between Executive Airlines and Gestair. Likewise, she has promoted, both as Compliance Officer and from the legal and HR areas, the reorganization of the Group's organizational structures and processes, constantly maintaining two focuses as a reference: on the one hand, offering high standards of technical and professional quality and, on the other hand, respecting the principles of regulatory compliance and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance).
Anabel Azor graduated in Law and Corporate Consultancy (Corporate Counsel) at ICADE, Universidad Pontificia de Comillas. Subsequently, she has been expanding her professional academic training in order to maintain and increase her legal, financial, management and aeronautical knowledge. Prior to joining Gestair in 1999 he was part of Grupo Lar, a real estate company.
César Ovelar, CFO of Gestair Group, is responsible for the areas of Management Control, Treasury and Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Corporate Procurement, IT Systems and Cybersecurity.
His main achievements since joining Gestair Group in 2015 have been the achievement of financing for the Group's organic and inorganic growth; the creation of the Purchasing Department for the centralization of suppliers; the continuous automation of financial processes; the creation of reporting for Clients; the improvement of Financial Reporting for shareholders; and the coordination of the Financial and Tax Due Diligence in which the Group has been involved, including the Due of the secondary buyout.
César holds a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), having completed his last year at Stockholm Business School. Prior to Gestair, he worked for other investment funds in other investee companies and spent 4 years in Switzerland where he held management positions and Manager in M&A respectively. At the beginning of his career he worked at Amadeus IT Group as Corporate Strategy Manager, and previously at Accenture and BCG as a Consultant.
Rafael Melero is, since 2010, the General Manager of Gestair Aviation, responsible for the Operation and Airworthiness of Gestair's fleet both in Spain and Malta.
Rafael graduated in Aeronautical Engineering at UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) and studied Management Development at ESADE Business School.
During his long career at Gestair, he has had the opportunity to progress in his personal and professional growth, surrounded by a team of highly qualified professionals, with a work style of total involvement and honesty, whose collective effort has led to the gradual modernization of the company, in accordance with the highest European standards in Quality Certifications, in worldwide Operational Approvals, in the creation and development of new business areas, such as FBOs, and in the incorporation of aircraft, by purchasing other companies or acquiring aircraft from other operators, into Gestair's AOC.
After a brief period at Iberia, where he worked in the aircraft maintenance workshops, he joined Gestair more than 25 years ago, in which has occupated different management positions in different units of the organization, such as Maintenance, Quality, Ground Operations, Safety and FBOs.
Ricardo Tercero is currently General Manager of Gestair MRO since 2016 being under his responsibility the areas of aircraft/components maintenance according to part-145 EASA/FAA, logistics distribution of the whole group and hangarage activities developed in hangars H1/H2 at Adolfo Suarez - Madrid Barajas airport, integrating around 60 workers in the different business areas.
During his time working at Gestair, his main achievements have been the growth of the maintenance activity 145 in base, first with the habilitation of the hangar H2 and later with the H1 until reaching 23,000m2, support and expansion of the maintenance activities of the VIP fleet of the Air Force, the increase of the logistic representations for the distribution of components, the implementation of technical modifications of avionics, with the collaboration of local organizations EASA Part 21 for the development and approval of design changes.
Ricardo Tercero holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid). Prior to Gestair, he worked at Executive Airlines as Technical Director and responsible for the continued airworthiness of the EASA Part-145 and CAMO Part-M organizations respectively.
Manuel Tirado is, since 2019, the Head of the Gestair Aeroplanning Business Unit, in charge of providing Flight Support services to all aircraft of the Group, to private aircraft and others operating in different AOCs.
He joined Gestair in 1998 as a flight dispatcher. During his professional development in Gestair, his main achievement has been taking over as head of Gestair's Flight Dispatch department (H24) in 2004. Subsequently, he assumed the Ground Operations Management (2010) and created in 2015 the Technical Operations Office, which gives Operational Engineering support to all the aircraft of the Group.
Manuel Tirado has a degree in Teaching, specialized in Foreign Languages, English, from Complutense University of Madrid. He has received training in procedure design at UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) and previously worked at United Aviation Services, a company dedicated to aircraft handling.
